I don't suppose that anyone has managed to retain any memories concerning the weekend? Or was everyone affected?

[ his voice is clipped; this entry is short and sweet. .. yeah this is a sensitive subject. ]

Tampering with someone's memory is unforgivable.

[That was about what Joshua had lost and it sucks when one's little brother doesn't even know the name of his older brother any longer. And Joshua just regained his own memories a short time ago in Luceti. Now that thought is making Leonhardt wish that Rui Yamase was still in Luceti since it would be interesting to see if she could do anything.]

Very much so. And I wonder why they took the memories away rather than replacing them. They most definitely can do that and it would make their tampering less obvious.

[As bad as it would be, it would seem that if the Malnosso wanted to cover their tracks better, giving everyone memories of doing normal things for the weekend would make more sense. But then, who knows with the Malnosso.]

It would of course depend on the reason. Completely wiping memories likely is far easier than replacing them. I know replacing memories with false ones isn't even possible in my world, but erasing them is.

[Because unlike most of Luceti, Leonhardt isn't fully convinced that the Malnosso as a whole do things just for their own amusement and a show of power. Some may, but it seems more likely that they have grown desperate enough that they care little about what harm is done as long as they eventually accomplish their goal of returning home.]
